Our 2020 End of the Year Fundraiser!

From November 18 through December 12, 2020, we are hosting a series of twice weekly IG lives on Wednesdays and Sundays where you can enjoy interviews and performances that give an inside look into our company. We will celebrate this most transformative year on December 12, 2020 with an amazing showing of works created by the company dancers and incredible special guests. JOIN this celebration of RESILIENCE!

Why You Should Give:
When COVID-19 came, Viver Brasil took a very deep breath and began reimagining how we could quickly pivot to an online presence with our programs. With the generosity of our funders who encouraged us to rethink our projects, we created a diverse number of programs online, which allowed our artists in Los Angeles and Salvador, Bahia an opportunity to continue to work and learn how to manage the world of Zoom, Instagram and more!

With your support and enthusiastic attendance, we managed to create vibrant programming, train our dancers and musicians, and strengthen our social media presence. We created a worldwide online presence and welcomed you all to our Viver Brasil familia.    

Even with all of our efforts, COVID 19 brought a 65% loss of income. And now, we are asking you to continue your support so that we may thrive in 2021!

Please consider a generous donation which will assist us in keeping our doors open. We thank you in advance so that we can meet our fundraising goal of $15,000 before December 31st!  

Performance Spotlight This week's Performance Spotlight is from our Yabas/Queens Tour.  Our dancers are fueled by the electric energy of our fine percussionists and singers!
In 2007, Viver Brasil toured Yabas/Queens to 10 cities in New Mexico; Colorado, Oregon, and Utah with New England Foundation for the Arts/ National Dance Project Touring Support.

This week's #VoiceMoneyTimeOrTalent entry is Vision Maker Media. Vision Maker Media has spent 44 years empowering and supporting Native filmmakers and storytellers. Their comprehensive approach includes helping supply Native filmmakers with professional equipment and crew; providing Native filmmakers with professional workshops, internships, and fellowships; getting Native filmmaker's work into local PBS stations, community screenings, and diversity-led film festivals; and creating travelling youth media programs to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.  During this time of thanks, we need to honor those who have been displaced (and currently are displaced) whose land we reside on.  Supporting this organization with your #voice, #time, and #money is one way to help make sure their stories are told.
