Afro-Brazilian dance class with Luiz Badaró and Linda Yudin

  • Dance Arts Academy (DAA) 731 S. La Brea Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90036 (map)

Orixá dance movement, dança afro (classic contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance, samba reggae, afoxé and songs). LIVE DRUMMING!

Badaró’s Tuesday evening class (ongoing since 2000 at DAA) provides an opportunity to learn Afro-Brazilian dance vocabulary primarily from the orixá dance tradition with his energetic approach to his native Bahian dance culture. Tuesday’s class has also become a venue for Badaró and Viver Brasil to host visiting guest teachers from Brazil. All levels welcome! Wear dance clothes or comfortable loose fitting clothing. We dance barefoot.

Luiz Badaró and Linda Yudin bring over three decades of dedication to the world of Afro-Brazilian dance, music and culture. Both have received the Lester Horton Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Dance Resource Center of Greater Los Angeles. Tuesday evening class brings together their collective energy and love for all things Afro-Brazilian!
