Please help us welcome our new intern, Zuko Nyaawie!
Through the Arts Internship program, the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture "supports and strengthens the cultural sector of LA County by providing access to high-quality opportunities for college students of all backgrounds to gain experience, understanding, and transferrable skills relevant to careers in the arts, the creative economy, and engagement in public life." For the last several years, we have had *stellar* interns and this year is no exception.
Zuko comes to Viver Brasil from State University of New York (SUNY), Purchase College, where she is pursuing a BFA in dance. With a background in Arts Management, Zuko brings her social media expertise, fresh ideas, and creative perspective to our development and communications efforts. Zuko is committed to mentoring youth in the arts having supported students in arts education and service-learning programs in Shenzhen, China and Cartagena, Colombia, respectively. As a practicing artist, Zuko deploys her lived experience to the administration of our vibrant company. We are so happy that she will be with us until February.*
*Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year's interns can work entirely remotely and also work beyond the summer months!
