Join us ALL MONTH for a month of exploring different diasporic dances, from West African to Cuban Orixa movement, we'll have VB teaching artists from around the country.
This week, we have Bianca Medina sharing the symbology and powerful essence of Omolu/Obaluaiyê and Ossain. Omolu/Obaluaiyê is the orixa of epidemic disease and has the ability to cure; Ossain, orixa of the leaves/herbal medicine. He is a curador, a healer. Mark you calendars for the rest of the month as well:
June 22 - Vera Passos and Laroye Aña (Indira) will explore the relationship between the manifestations of the Orixa/Orisha movement in Bahia and Cuba!
