  • Music Center 200 North Grand Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

CURATOR STATEMENT:
In collaboration with MAPS (Movement Arts Performance Space) and the Music Center, I am thrilled to present you with an evening of music and dance celebrating the Afro Latinx & Caribbean diaspora in Los Angeles. The evening brings together a vibrant community of artist merging underground and popular culture! Come move your body to sounds by the RAIL UP crew: Foreigner, Kelman Duran, and Muñeka, and live performances by Bloco Obini, and Viver Brasil Dance Company !! Join us as we pay homage to the Samba Reggae movement, a music and dance genre born in Salvador, Bahia, during the Movimento Negro, Brazil’s Black Pride Movement. Samba Reggae celebrates Brazil’s African roots and culture, melting together the sounds of Brazilian Samba and Jamaican Reggae. We can’t wait to share this with you. This is one you definitely don't want to miss!

Open to all ages. Grand Park is located at 200 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Visit grandparkla.org/getting-here to plan your trip. #GOMETRO: Take the Red or Purple line to Grand Park/ Civic Center station. Exit on Temple St.
