Assemblies
A 45-minute performance of traditional and contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance and music that exalts the rich cultural traditions of Northeastern Brazil. Viver Brasil's performances include the dances of the Candomblé orixas; samba de roda, carnival dances, and Afro-Brazilian contemporary dance choreographies with live music to evoke a joyous celebration of the Afro-Brazilian soul. The performance includes an interactive dance workshop and an interwoven narrative explaining each section of the performance.

Dance and Music of Brazil Workshops
Include orixa dance movement, samba de roda, samba reggae carnival dances and Afro-Brazilian contemporary dance technique.

Music workshops include traditional Candomblé drum rhythms and accompanying songs; variations of samba and the carnival rhythms of Samba Reggae and Samba Afro.

HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS


College and university level residencies available. Programs include traditional and contemporary (Silvestre Technique) Afro-Brazilian dance and music workshops, setting choreography on student ensembles and lectures on Afro-Brazilian culture.
